Last week I published a post asking you if you think Income Reports provide value.
I was thinking of not publishing my Income Press Monthly Reports anymore. I asked my readers what they thought about it and if Income Reports PERIOD provide any kind of value.
I got a lot of mixed responses about it. Some liked them, some didn’t, some didn’t mind if it got canceled, and many actually wanted me to keep publishing them.
Here’s the thing
Up until now I’ve been publishing Nothing but Content. Well, as I stated in last weeks post, I want to publish Nothing but Epic Content.
I have a ton of great epic content to produce and each one will require my 150% attention and focus. And I strongly feel that the IPM Reports will take away from that.
Here’s the breakdown from each monthly report
It takes 8 – 15 hours, sometimes more, to put it all together. And that’s just one report. Now I don’t do it in one day. It usually takes about 2 – 3 days. I really can’t spend more than 4 hours at a time, per day on a PC.
So that’s 3 days of work on just one IPM report. Now mind you, I usually work about 8 hours a week, so basically this is my work plus overtime for the week.
Now this is fine, no problems at all. I don’t mind the work. The problem and the issue comes the week before and the week after.
I found myself thinking about it the previous week. So much that I actually started to dread it. I felt like I was running out of time and had to rush things. I hate that feeling. It’s like I was back working at Walmart.
Then the following week after publishing the IPM report, I found myself mentally worn out and exhausted which usually ended up me taking an extra week off just to rest.
So that’s 3 weeks of less than 100% focus, energy, productivity, and time…
You see how this started to effect my overall performance?
So here’s what I decided to do …
I’m not going to publish anymore IPM Reports!
This has been the most difficult decision I’ve made since starting the Income Press blog. But this is one of those things you just have to do in order to move forward.
It’s one of those decisions you wished you didn’t have to make, but know deep in your heart that it’s for the best.
Now here’s the good news!
I know that these reports are important for many people. They are inspirational and motivational. You get to see the inside scoop of the business. And you get some great ideas from it.
So what I’m going to do is publish Quarterly Reports.
This idea came from one of my readers and commenters on that post, Christa Herzog. Thank you Christa ;-)
She suggested that I keep doing the reports, (as many did) but it doesn’t have to be monthly. This was such a GREAT Idea!
These reports will now be called IPQ Reports, (Income Press Quarterly Reports).
This is perfect cause it’ll gimme a chance to really focus on what I’ve got going on now.
That extra week I would gain from not doing the monthly reports, (actually I would gain 3 extra weeks) would be huge for the IP blog. I could fill those weeks with EPIC stuff.
And I can properly schedule time in advance to do the IPQ Reports. It will also give you a chance to see how I’ve been doing and what I’ve been doing for the previous quarter and what the plans are for the following quarter.
I think this will be good ;-)
Let me know your thoughts. Good or bad. Doesn’t matter. Just add your voice!
