Done some split testing with images, created a new web app, and the IP Podcast is taken off like crazy.
Today I’ll lay out the goods and the bads of what happened during the month of March.
Every month I do a recap of things like traffic, case studies, split tests, and the income gains and/or losses.
These monthly recaps not only helps me see what’s going on with the IP blog, but also to show my readers exactly how I take this blog from A to Z. From getting traffic, building an audience, to generating income.
I also want to show the readers of this blog that it’s not all fun and games. The money does not come over night. There’s work to be done. And when the money does start coming in, you have to continue to put work in to make that money.
Two months of this alone is enough to make the average Joe QUIT!
The third month came along and BOOM! $4,643. You see, if I would’ve given up, I would have never seen that money.
Don’t quit. Keep at it. Never give up.
Enjoy this months report.
Biggies in March
As I said earlier, March was a lot of fun. I created a new web app for Facebook which is taken off like wild fire.
The Podcast show nearly doubled in downloads. People are loving it.
And lastly, did some split testing on the cover art image in iTunes. The results were crazy.
New Web App: Timeline Slicer
The Timeline Slicer App was the highlight of the month. It’s a simple app I created for facebook timeline.
All it does is take your images and slices and dices them to the perfect size that facebook requires. You don’t need any kind of special software like Photoshop, Gimp, or any of those type of things.
Here’s a video of how it works:
I had already thought of creating this app. Something simple and ugly like my other apps. But then Pat Flynn released his Timeline for Facebook Guide and with it he gave away a PSD file to use for those with Photoshop.
I loved the idea, the name, contacted Pat for permission to use the name and the rest is history.
I launched Timeline Slicer on March 24. It was towards the end of the month but still, this thing went crazy.
People loved the fact that they can just upload any image, click on create, and instantly they have a perfect sized image that will fit perfectly on their timeline.
A total of 718 visitors came to the site.
People from all over was sharing this site. I’ve never seen anything like this for anything that I’ve done. Usually there’s affiliates, promos, and all that junk.
This app has NOTHING to do with making money. NOTHING to do with the money making niche.
It’s just a simple app for you to cut up images for your facebook timeline. That’s it. And I love that about it.
Income Press Podcast
I am soooo enjoying this podcast thing. I mean the feedback I’m getting from this is so great and positive. People are really digging it. And my current readers are loving it as well.
A total of 1,852 downloads for the month. I released two more episodes and have already 3 more scheduled for April.
I’ve noticed that with each episode, the downloads spiked and more traffic came to the IP blog. So for April I’ll try 3 shows to see how it works out. Plus the audience are requesting more shows ;-)
He said something about the color red being the slowest of all the wavelengths in the human eye and it’s the most stimulating color. I went into split testing mode.
I decided to test the theory by changing the colors and text on the iTunes artwork.
Here’s the 3 different artwork themes I’ve used.
Which one do you like best and which one catches your eye first?
I released episode 3 along with the new artwork on March 22. There was a major spike in downloads.
Now I don’t know if this was the actual artwork or the fact that a new show just got released or a combination of both. All I know is that something made it spike.
So to test the color theory even more, I changed the color theme of the IP blog. Have you noticed ;-)
I didn’t do this till just the end of the month. So it’s to early to tell. I will tell you this though. I did see an increase in optins. I’ll give it an entire month and let ya know in next months reports.

Drop it like it’s hot
Better yet, drop it like it’s not hot, lol. Well, as you can see, there was a drop in income generated for March. Not much, but still a drop.
It’s not a big deal really. Things like this happen all the time with online stuff. Hell, it could’ve been zero right…
Anyway, the important thing here is that a lot of this income was generated pretty much on autopilot. I did no hard selling or promoted anything.
The majority of this money comes from the tutorials, step by step guides, or any other type of article that I have an affiliate link or two on.
Now I know I been promising you that I’m going to release an article on how and where the money is actually made, and I still am, but things have been really busy around here. Like working on the Timeline Slicer App, the podcast show, etc.
And I’m only posting twice a week so I had to sort of pick and choose the content I released. I will release that post this month, I promise. No if, ands, or buts about it. I’m just going to have to work a little harder to release more posts.
Another reason for the drop is because the majority of the posts for March were influential and update type of posts.
Those don’t tend to have affiliate links and it’s more steered towards giving HIGH QUALITY content and providing MASSIVE VALUE!
It’s Not All About The Money
The flat out truth here is that it’s more than just the money with the IP Blog. It’s about the value, knowledge, and the experience I can bring to the table.
Does that mean I will never sell out of this blog? No it doesn’t. I will eventually create a product and sell it here. But I will also show you how I did it and the results to go with it.
All this is so you can learn from what I’m doing. You can try it, model it, and hopefully start seeing some kind of positive results for yourself.
Model my successes and use my mistakes and losses as your learning curve.
Things to look for in April
Well definitely I will release the article on how and where the money is made here on the IP Blog. I’ve actually started. It’s just a real in depth post. A pillar, epic article if you will. Those tend to be 2-4 thousand words and lot’s of detail.
Another biggie for April is the release of the Timeline Slicer Pro. Totally different than the original slicer. It’s not a 2.0 version or any of that.
The slicer pro will have all the bells and whistles to be able to take complete control of your pictures and images. It’s sort of like a photoshop, but web based.
Ok so that wraps up another IPM Reports. Hope you enjoyed this one. Till next month…
Peace and I love ya for free ;-)
