This is actually the first Reader Challenge of the Income Press Blog. This is something I did not do with my old blog. I’ve been wanting to start a reader challenge for a while now, just never got around to it.
Now with the new IP Blog, I get a chance to start fresh and new, so I’ll go ahead and challenge myself to finally get it done ;-)
Let me tell ya, to actually get things done, is a challenge in itself. Procrastination is a bitch. And this is why I wanted to make this first reader challenge special.
As you may or may not know, I recently challenged my self to actually start this new blog. Something I battled with for over a year just to get this going. I made a public announcement that I was going to finally start this blog. The best thing I ever did!
Since starting the Income Press blog, It sparked this new energy inside of me like I haven’t felt in years. I wake up everyday just wanting to write, make videos, and just create great content for this blog. It’s an awesome feeling, and I want you to feel and experience the same feeling too.
I know how hard it is to get things going, to get things started, to actually TAKE ACTION! You’re not alone in this, trust me. I’m here for you, to help you in every step of the way.
If you’ve ever wanted to start your very own blog, niche site, or wanted to start a Brand, then this challenge is for you. We’re going to do this together.
So with that said, let’s get this challenge rolling…
I Challenge You!
In this first reader challenge, I’m going to challenge you to a 21 day challenge to get your first blog up and running. This is assuming you don’t have a blog.
If you already have a blog, you can still join the challenge. Just follow along and skip all the basic stuff you already have. Like domain and hosting. When we get to the content strategy, then you can join in on the party ;-)
You’re going to pick a niche, create your blog, and put some content on it.
We are going to do this in the next 21 days. This is not hard at all. Many people never get as far as buying their domain because they believe it’s to difficult or to technical.
Well this is what this challenge is for. To take you out of your comfort zone and get you to start taking action. It’s the only way you will see any kind of results.
I will walk you through every step of the way. From building your blog, to writing the first piece of content, and getting visitors to your blog.
Here’s What To Do Next:
You’re going to choose a niche market (for help read my Niche Site Challenge post)
- Get your domain (I recommend Godaddy)
- Get Hosting (I’m using BlueHost)
- Get a Custom Theme (All my blogs use StudioPress)
- Download Plugins Package (right click to download)
This is all you’re going to do today. I don’t want you to install anything or write any content or do any of that stuff. You are simply just going to follow those 5 simple instructions for now.
In the next post I will show you step by step, exactly what to do to get your blog up and running. I want to make sure that you not only install everything right, but also make sure everything is configured correctly. This will ensure you maximum results.
Do this now, then proceed to the next step: Setting up your Blog
We Got Prizes
I want this challenge to be not only a learning experience for you, but also fun. If it’s not fun, then what’s the point. We do this for the passion, love, and because we enjoy what we do.
I’m going to be giving away a $50.00 Gift Card from Amazon.com at the end of this challenge.
Once you’re done with your challenge, shoot me an email with your blog link between now and the end of the 2011 year. I’ll put together a list of all the links and post them in a blog post after the new year.
We’ll have a contest drawing to see who’s blog is the winner. It doesn’t matter what niche market your blog is in. Just as long as your blog has some content on it.
Lets Do This…
I’m really stoked and excited to get this first reader challenge going, hope you guys are too. Here’s another little challenge for you. If you want to join in on this reader challenge, make a public announcement by posting it in the comments section. This is a great way to hold yourself accountable. It worked for me, lol.
